What resonated with me and almost moved me to tears was the awe-inspiring variety.

Taking the time to talk with artists has the power to change your perspective, enhance your life, spark creative ideas, and provide a sense of wonder

I think this concept of tension and balance between opposite but complimentary energies applies to all of life, and especially to art.

But this is about the idea that one person can make a significant difference in the world. Over the weekend, I got to spend time with just such a person, Dee Ann McIntyre.

It's almost like being "high" – that wonderful feeling of being relaxed, enjoying the moment, and the people around you. Feeling connected to all that is good in the world.

The friend's theory was a psychological analysis of the painting, and was beautifully simple: The background of a painting reflects the artist's inner self, while the foreground reflects the public or outer face of the artist.

Lately, the sky has been full of fascinating clouds, and the more I look, the more I see.

For despair, optimism is the only practical solution. Hope is practical.
