Meet Tina--she's a dear friend and an exceptional woman. Until recently she was the director of the Animal Welfare Coalition of Northeastern New Mexico which is how we met. She is a force made up of equal parts of intelligent and kindness--and she is especially kind towards animals.

 

In painting this portrait I discovered that it's quite difficult to paint a friend for many reasons: for one, we would talk a lot! But mostly I really wanted to capture all that I admire and love in her which is, of course, an impossible goal. Overall though I'm pleased with the results.
