As it started to get dark, four of us gathered on the front porch in costume, ready to trick and treat kids as they came by.

The plan was to decorate the front lawn with giant vegetables and hang a sign on the porch that says "veggie stand". Then, when the kids came up to the porch, we'd have a large bowl with a lid and remove it to find...veggies!

When I was younger, I preferred to show up in a new place and explore by following my instincts. Honestly, I still like doing that, but I also find value in a little more preparation
