This coming week is the International Association of Pastel Societies Fourteenth Biennial Convention in Albuquerque, NM. It's affectionally called the "biggest pastel party on the planet"!
I heard about it last year and eagerly put the registration dates on my calendar. When they posted the demonstrations and workshops schedule I felt like a kid in a candy store. Systematically I researched each instructor and read every detail about the classes offered. Eventually I narrowed it down and signed up for four days of fun.
As the dates have gotten closer I've paid careful attention to all the art materials I need to pack--easel, drawing board, pastels, paper, artists tape, drop cloth, handiwipes, notebook, etc. It's quite a pile of stuff as you can see in the photo above. Hopefully I haven't forgotten anything but if I did I'm sure I can find it at the trade show booths nicknamed "the candy store". 😊
